If you grew up in an African household like me, you may have been subjected to the horrors of relentless bad acting, horrific sets and insane story lines that make up African cinema.

If you were lucky enough to dodge what now makes up a small section in HMV or were in the same boat as me now is your chance to finally see some quality film making from Africa.

Between the 29th of November and the 8th of December a celebration of African cinema takes place around the capital with the annual London African Film Festival, featuring UK premieres, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, screenings of silent films and more. Venues include the ICA, the Barbican and the Rich Mix.

They were playing on a completely UK line-up featuring Ms.Dynamite, Wretch 32 and Natty, and he held his own. They are pretty dope, all I'm saying is check them out. And remember I told you, they could just be NEXT.

But do you know what is not sexy, gorgeous or beautiful? Victoria's Secret underwear. Any woman who has ever visited this emporium of American undergarment sluttiness will testify that the products they sell in there are tacky, tacky, tacky and completely overpriced. Every year, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show rolls around and every year I am momentarily awed into thinking that I should really get round to finally applying for a credit card so I can buy some of their bras and whatnot online. And then I remember that, unless you have the body of an age-defying German supermodel, that shit will just look, well, shit.

When it comes to online underwear perving, I'm sticking with AgentProvocateur.Com. As with sarcasm and a good cup of tea, women's lingerie is obviously one of those things that Brits, quite simply, do better.

Now the gig itself was nowhere near the massive scale of the US counterpart but it was a great night all the same. The guys behind the gig were saying that they are back ready to go for next year March - here's hoping for something major (Blackstar???)

5. The Guest list Girl

Most of the time one of the most attractive girls your likely to see at your club night. Annoying characteristics of the guest list girl include: Being unable to read basic names, making you wait an unnecessary amount of time, taking great enjoyment in telling you the guest list is shut and just being outright rude!! Why is it that a clipboard, a pen and big jacket makes this girl feel sooo important??

4. Fake Ballers

Unfortunately nowadays holding a bottle of Champagne in a rave does not give off the impression you are balling like Jay-Z. especially when you are holding the same bottle ALL NIGHT. So why do some guys still do it?? If you really wanna floss I suggest you rave holding your bank statement and some picture ID.

3. Sh*t DJ's

Goes without saying really. We've all been to a rave that had the right elements; no work the next day, nice venue and a good mix of people. Then what happens.... the DJ goes and fucks it all up! Playing the wrong tunes, Playing the wrong tunes for too long, weird tracks nobodies ever heard before, chatting too much shit on the mic...I think you get the point.

2. Tense Bouncers

There are actually some really cool bouncers out there but there are a small minority of steroid chewing, protein shake sucking, straight from the gym stickin, no-neck having, no girl getting Meat heads that gain soooo much pleasure in giving punters a hard time at the door. Some of them really need a hug..SERIOUSLY (hope none of them are reading this. I dont fancy getting turfed next time I'm out.)

1. Drunk Girls.

Honestly Honestly Honestly NOTHING LESS ATTRACTIVE THAN A OVER DRUNK GIRL! Tipsy can be dealt with. Drunk - Hell no! Who wants a to chat to a girl thats likely to throw up on your shoes? A girl that confesses her love to you after meeting you 3 mins ago? A girl that wants to fight other drunk girls till they are both rolling around on the floor like pitbulls A girl that wants to walk out of the club bare footed (thats the worst one!!)

So yes today is the day the longest political battle of our time is about to draw to an end, and whatever the outcome it’s about to be the first the USA have ever seen. Just in case you didn’t know, if Obama wins it’ll be the first African American taking over the White House, or if McCain gets it…boy…he’ll be the OLDEST man ever to be president in their first term.

You may have been thinking…hey…how come Ace & Vis aren’t all over this? How come Ace & Vis haven’t jumped on the media overkill bandwagon…but don’t worry people. We’ve been all over the campaign, which has played out across the world with nothing, but drama, all the twists, turns, bitching, and shadiness, you could compare it to an Eastenders Christmas special. But that aside it’s all about the end…the result.

Obviously Ace & Vis can’t get involved cos we haven’t got the green card…(or British Passports in fact ssssh!!) BUT to all our people across the water (those of you who didn’t creep into the states in the middle of the night) get your vote on…vote correctly…and make history…and to all you who plan to stay up all night watching the results…here’s an Ace & Vis survival plan:

SNACKS – double up on everything and keep within close reach so there’s no missing vital info just cos your juice or popcorn finished. (Must include Red bull…it’s gonna be a long night)

SPARE BATTERIES – with all the channel hopping you’ll be doing you need to make sure the remote doesn’t die.

ALARM CLOCK – set it hourly just in case the facts, figures and bored newscaster re-hashing old bits of the campaign start sending you to sleep.

CALCULATOR – don’t trust what they say do your own calculations.

BOFFIN MATE – to explain the answer you got on your calculator as well as the rest like: statistics / percentages / swing states / Republican / Democrat / Political corruption / Tax Reforms etc….

VICTORY DANCE – practice that dance and get it right…cos if your candidate wins…then…show your love!! (Works best if a lot of you do it at once and preferably in the middle of a busy street, or your office, or any public place)

RICH/FAMOUS MATE – guaranteed if Obama wins, there will be celeb parties in key states:

NYC / ATL / MIAMI & LA for about a week, you need to get to at least one…this will only be possible if you have the right connects…

THERAPIST/SHOULDER TO CRY ON – if you candidate doesn’t make it you’re gonna really need a hug…(Ace & Vis post election tips will be available by request)

REALITY CHECK – We don’t live in the states!! We need to watch what our own government are getting up to!

SKY PLUS – cos seriously…you really gonna stay up all night and try and then go to work????? Record that ish….

The Bells Fall Virtually Silent

Rock the Bells UK is down to a fraction of what was promised. It was already a pale imitation of what went down in the States. Now it's even worse first of all Manchester and Birmingham are 'postponed' until March 2008 and then on top of that the London date doesn't feature De La or Mos Def. Instead we are down to just Nas, EPMD and Pharcyde. Don't get me wrong they can all rock a crowd but it's not what we had hoped for by a long stretch.

So I guess we wait for the the full scale tour in March and hope they come through and smack it out of the park. The US tour was sick in a serious way and who knows by March maybe Phife will be better and we'll see ATCQ in the UK come '09

A few months ago, I randomly spotted a man walking down Portobello Road with a dog balancing on his shoulder. As you do. (If you didn't catch Dog Man No.1 the first time round on ATCN check him out here.) Now there is ANOTHER Dog Man on the streets of London town. I don't get it? Is this the 2008 definition of Grandad swagger? Whatever it represents it keeps me entertained.

A long needed break came over the last few days in the form of Paris.

Obviously the sites needed to be seen...

I found this odd blue tower...

and stumbled across scaffolding that randomly had cues of people going to see some bird called Mona who lives there or summin? Anyway, being pointed in the direction of dope hotels and unbelievable places to eat by ATCN family Fats, also led me to the best guides to the city....

Fashion, Art and music could be part of a long winded description of who they are but i figure a clip of the crew shutting down the street outside their Pigalle store says it better than i could.

When in Paris you need to hit the Pigalle store and see one of the dopest line up of brands ever from Swagger to Marc Jacobs. Also if there is an exhibition in the former red light district of Pigalle there is a good chance the POK crew are responsible. As a group of creatives PainOchoKolat not only run a store and throw parties, the boys run a consultancy company and have an office that doubles as a gallery space...

Blur vs. Oasis

I have had this argument with many a man(and woman), basically because most people fight the corner of Oasis! Just look at it this way Damon Albarn is a genius, the term may be used loosely sometimes, but he really is. From classic brit-pop singles and albums with Blur, to alternative, indie, hip-hop, rock, funk tracks with Gorillaz, delivering many seminal albums in whatever he does. Not to mention producing musicals and various bits of solo work.

Where as Liam Gallagher is over hyped, and a bit of a waste of space. Noel has talent and is a brilliant song writer, and 'Whats the Story' is a classic album. But they are just churning out watered down Oasis circa-1996 these days!

So the question remains!

Tinchy - Rollin' ft. Roache

Tinchy has done very well with his new street release, if this track featuring Roache doesn't wet your lips for the album nothing will! I like the track quite a bit, and the video is one of the best grime video's in a while!

Its been two years since Lily's debut and the short lived love affair the public held for her. 'Everyone's At It' is the first finished track to emerge from second album offerings. An easy target to lampoon and parody, does she manage to deliver with this slightly jarring effort?

Daito Manabe is an artist programmer who has been up to some crazy shit in his bedroom and I'm impressed. Click play and wait for when his face truly starts to rave in sync to the music via wires and what must be an electric pulse.

I can see the developed idea as a sick music video treatment... maybe a close up of just a face, alternatively, these wires could be attached to a nice round bottom and a close up of that could ensue.

Whilst half of the UK scene (Sway, Ms Dynamite, Kano etc) was repping in another part of Camden at Africa Express, I got myself a ticket to go and watch an absolute legend at the Roundhouse.

Burt Bacharach

The thing with Burt is as well as seeming like a fantasticly nice old man, he has written soooooo many hits; 12 number ones Say a Little Prayer, What the World Needs Now, Magic Moments (OK scrap that last one)

His voice is a mashed up now but I have to say that his performance with the BBC concert Orchestra was one of the best gigs I have seen this year. Adele, Beth Rowley & Jamie Cullem all took to the stage to do a song each and all did their thing.
